We are fortunate to be in a part of the Hills with many old-growth Red Gums still remaining. It is easy to underestimate the age and size of these beauties. When fixing my fence last week I took this shot of four such trees on Guthries land, opposite ours. The width at the base of these trees would easily cover a car. These were old when the country was young and have re-grown many times over. Nothing like starting afresh, I say.
