The Cottage was built in the second half of the nineteenth century and is now a self-contained. The Main House was erected right next to it in the early eighties, both are joined by a small door in the kitchen and are rented as one unit. For this reason Barrenjoey is never too big or too small but suitable for couples, groups or even larger gatherings such as weddings or parties if arrangements are made beforehand.
Because of it’s stone and double-brick construction, Barrenjoey is a comfortable dwelling in the South Australian climate, well insulated and cosy both winter and summer. We have split-system air-conditioning in both buildings. In winter we provide all firewood with no charge; enjoy a fire in our Nectre slow-combustion heater. I mention it as it’s made here in SA.
Dining inside is suitable for eight and outside, under the umbrella, for twelve or more. Large BBQ available and in good condition, gas also supplied.
There are three Queen Beds in three bedrooms. In the Living Area, a set of Bunks with trundle. Extra sleeping can be arranged on request, ask Robin. See my post on Jus’ Kruzn our one-of-a-kind off-road caravan.
