Winton Road is seven kilometres long and runs between Gumeracha and Birdwood just behind the Manum Road. We are in the middle of it, half-way between Gumeracha and Birdwood.
There is variety here: Murray Grey Stud, Thoroughbred Horses, Torrens Valley Cherries and Mr. Guthries Sheep(right next door) and one vineyard, Lansdowne, for the nearest cellar-door try Kersbrookhill Winery as the drive takes you over to Checker Hill Road.
For much of its length Winton Road is lined with Red River Gums, right up to Barrenjoey Hideaway.
There is wildlife too, the mainstay being a mob of kangaroos that live in the area. Just how you view them will depend on the time of year. A recent guest comment mentioned thirteen on the lawn. In summer the irrigated lawn gives them grass to eat.
